Formerly a preservs company that was put on pause with the 2020 pandemic. Now O-Town Kitchen is the first kitchen incubator in Ogden, Utah, to provide food entrepreneurs with education, training, mentorship, and space in which they can start, operate, and grow their food-based business. We have transformed the kitchen of James Madison Elementary School into a startup space for food-based businesses, including a commercial kitchen space certified and inspected by state and county Regulatory agencies. Food-based businesses will be able to rent the space by the hour to produce products and develop their culinary creations in a professional environment.About O-Town Kitchen
O-Town Kitchen is more than just a commissary kitchen—it is a community-based incubator designed to support food entrepreneurs at every stage of their journey. We combine access to a fully equipped commercial kitchen with education, coaching, and wrap-around services that help small businesses grow sustainably.
What We Offer
Kitchen Access: Student Businesses can rent time in our licensed commercial kitchen, equipped with ovens, mixers, cold and dry storage, and other essential tools for food production.
One-on-One Coaching: Each business works directly with our coordinator to set realistic growth goals, troubleshoot challenges, and stay accountable.
Educational Workshops: We host regular sit-down classes with local experts covering topics such as food safety, licensing, branding, marketing, distribution, and scaling your operation.
Peer Community: Entrepreneurs learn and collaborate alongside other small food businesses, building networks that lead to shared opportunities and collective growth.
How It Works
Apply: Interested food entrepreneurs complete a short application and onboarding process.
Register with Adult Education: As part of our unique model, businesses also enroll with Ogden School District’s Adult Education program, ensuring that every participant is both a food producer and a learner.
Set Your Goals: In the initial coaching session, businesses set clear, measurable goals (e.g., sales targets, product launches, or new market entry).
Book Kitchen Time: Using our scheduling system, members reserve kitchen hours that fit their production needs. Different membership tiers and hourly rates make access flexible.
Engage in Education: Members participate in monthly coaching sessions and attend workshops to strengthen their business skills.
Grow Together: O-Town Kitchen provides an ecosystem of accountability, shared knowledge, and supportive community to help food businesses thrive.
